Strawberry Patch -Rustic Hand Wood-Burned Ornament
"Patch of Strawberries" is a small hand-wood-burned piece on aspen inspired by working in my garden out here in Kentucky. These ornaments are burned on high-quality aspen slices I source from a small business in the Northeast. I've always been inspired by botanical and naturalist works and I try to incorporate that into my work as much as possible. These wood-burned ornaments are the perfect way for me to express that! Each slice has a beautiful tonal quality that I incorporate into my artwork. This particular piece is 4x4" and a quarter inch thick. The ornament is first sealed with a UV-resistant varnish to protect the piece from fading in the sunlight and is then sealed with Danish Oil that brings out the beautiful tones in the wood. I keep the image of the piece as natural-looking as possible and use a Jute tie to hang the ornament.
Care instructions: wipe clean with a microfiber cloth if dust ever gathers. Avoid hanging in direct sunlight to avoid fading over time.
