Play of Light Original Oil Painting
My latest painting “Play of Light” painted on 24x24” gallery wrap canvas (1.5” thick) with the edges painted in the same color as the dark background in the painting. I have always loved creating work with harsh lighting- this is the perfect example. This piece was so fun to create with almost every color in the rainbow shown in the reflected light to create an iridescent effect. The background was created using a palette knife to create more texture in the nearly solid color. The thick palette knife work compliments the thick brushstrokes that were used in the highlights of the horse to create almost a three-dimensional effect from the background. The painting is still wet and will be available March 9th for shipping/pick-up.
